‘I studied abroad in London while I was in undergrad, and that was really the beginning of everything. Like, my gosh, you know, the arts are so accessible! Just, visiting the National Gallery for free, whereas growing up I was so used to paying for entry to a museum, and attending a production at the Globe and seeing a Deaf actress featured. I just saw a lot of movement towards inclusivity.
I was drawn to Edinburgh for practical reasons, but also for the sense of the picturesque. I really love that Edinburgh is so rooted in history, and that it’s been very proudly maintained. It’s a bit cliché to call a city magical, but it is.
Adult life really hit after my masters. Edinburgh is where I really had to find my own feet and discern what was important to me.’
